Witch’s Potion - Purple Cabbage Soup

Updated: Oct 28, 2020

If you've got people wondering if this is food or some sort of dark magic sorcery... than you're doing it right.

Is this purple concoction a potion made by a witch using the tails of 3 purple mice, a crocodile tear, 3 dry prunes, fairy dust, a mandala stone, 3 bobby pins previously used on a voodoo doll, 2 oyster shells, earrings worn by a Tahitian princess and 9 drops of lavender oil?

Nope! This a purple cabbage soup - first recipe from our 2020 Halloween menu.

Is this really purple? You bet!

All of its <purpleness> comes from the purple/ red cabbage. I

f purple sweet potato is easily available to you, add it to this magic potion for a stronger effect. I couldn't find it and... you can see for yourself that the end results was still mesmerizing.

Is it delicious? Yes, it is! A bit of potato, a couple of apples, chicken broth and milk, plus parmesan flakes and some fresh or toasted nuts on top (not pictured, but delicious with the other ingredients and highly recommended) will make this soup a yummy starter for a proper spooky Halloween meal.

Feel free to serve this soup in a mini black cauldron ;)
