Nachos
A widely popular snack revamped into a satisfying meal.

This colorful treat started off as plain corn tortilla chips, covered with cheese and jalapeno slices, which were lightly baked in the oven. And, of course, there's a story that goes with that. It is said that, at the beginning of the 1940s, in the Mexican city of Piedras Negras (just over the Texan border), Mamie Finan and 3 friends - wives of soldiers stationed at a nearby army base, found themselves in The Victory Club restaurant. When Mamie asked for an original snack to pair with their cocktails, the man who served them went to the kitchen and, finding no one there, improvised this simple recipe which brought him praises from the women. The name of this man was Ignacio (Nacho) Anaya and the dish was since known as Nacho Especial - Nacho's Special, after his nickname.
Nachos have since evolved in a multitude of ways, include a variety of ingredients and have gained international popularity.
Our dish uses all the 3 original ingredients. We also added beans and vegetables - to make it into a nutritious meal, that is well balanced.
