Malaysian Breakfast

Aromatic curry whose flavor will fill your entire kitchen and the most beautiful lacy crepes. You will be in awe with yourself after you make these.

Malaysian Chicken Curry Gulai Ayam (made with chicken, mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, coconut milk and fragrant spices for an authentic flavor) and gorgeous lacy crepes - Roti Jala (that are incredibly easy to make) come together to make this amazing Malaysian Breakfast.

A bit more than a week ago I learned about this online cooking class for Malaysian Food from my incredible cousin Oana Nenciulescu (look her up on Facebook, Instagram), founder of Penang Gang (get in touch with them on Facebook, Instagram) - which organizes charitable events that promote Malaysian cuisine. This time she has teamed up with Chef Siti Bensaddouk (you can find her on Facebook, Instagram) and showed us how to make these 2 wonderful dishes. All donations from this online class went towards the Kirklees Visual Impairment Network, who have been very supportive to Chef Siti during her battle with visual impairment throughout the last year.

Not only was this class a blast, but I was also given permission to publish these two recipes here. How amazing is that?

I will be posting the original recipes, standardized. Feel free to add more chili powder to your curry if you like it spicier. Also, make sure you add enough water to your lacy crepes to make the batter thin enough - so that you are able to make the lacy pattern.

This salad from tropical Asia blends right into our 2020 - Week 26 Menu - Tropical Foods. Look under Menus for the other recipes of the series or Subscribe to our mailing list and receive complete weekly menu ideas with everything from the grocery shopping list to all standardized recipes in a menu, as well as an organized Order of Cooking list to save you time in the kitchen.
