Danish mulled wine with almonds and raisins.

What better way to warm you up on a long winter night than a sweet, fragrant, mulled wine?
While this drink may taste slightly better around Christmas time, it can be enjoyed during any winter month.
While different countries will each have their version of mulled wine (and all insist theirs is the best), we felt like our Hygge week of menus deserved a Danish mulled wine.
The version presented here is the fast, easy version of making this drink. Traditionally, one should soak the raisins overnight and some even recommend waiting a few days before sieving and drinking the wine.
And speaking of straining the wine, even the Danes may disagree as to what to do with the spices and even almonds/ fruit in the wine. Personally I'd recommend serving it with a spoon - so that you can also enjoy the soaked almonds and raisins.
