Creamy Mushroom-Dill Chicken

Updated: Dec 24, 2020

Rich and inviting.

As you've probably noticed by now, Romanian travel foods are rustic, homey, not necessarily pretty but unapologetic since they know their true value, simple - yet with a rich and refined taste.

Today's dish is no exception. While this is not a recipe that I encountered during our travels (or at least not something that I remember ordering at the time), this is the type of recipe that is born neither close to the sea side, nor high in the mountains - but somewhere on a hill. Just like me.

This is the kind of warm dish that warms your stomach and your soul on a chilly summer night - when you need a blanket if you have to wait for your food, yet can't get enough of it and secretly hope that today will never end. I found the original recipe on Jamilla Cuisine's blog and this is actually one of the recipes in my recipe binder for which I've made only minor changes - since it was absolutely delicious every time.

This recipe is part of the 2020 - Week 24 Romanian Dishes.
