Chicken Curry
Updated: Dec 13, 2020
Ginger and spice and everything nice.

To add one more page to the Queen Victoria menu, here is my favorite finding of the week: Chicken Curry.
Remember how I said women in the Victorian era were expected to eat bland dishes? And can you think of anything more bland than a curry? :D If you read this series so far, you are definitely not expecting the queen to abide by the <rules>.
While this dish was not previously unknown to Victorian England, before Queen Victoria elevated its status curry was mostly a way to use up leftover ingredients. Chicken curry is said to have been a favorite of the queen and was part of the lunch menu of Sundays in the late 1880s. This recipe was adapted from a Skinnytaste original.
If you're enjoying this week's menu as much as I enjoyed making it please consider sharing it with other people who would also appreciate the extra help with getting organized in the kitchen.
