Bobotie and yellow Rice

A South African specialty that's just packed with flavor.

One of the most famous dishes of South African, Bobotie will make you fall in love with it as soon as you read the list of ingredients.

Meat and spices and raisins and toasted almonds and apricot jam (or chutney) make the bulk of the meal. Add a golden layer of milk and egg on top and you have a winning dish.

And since the main dish is so spectacular, the side needs to be just as impressive. Yellow rice is made with raisins, cinnamon and turmeric and it will be the perfect addition to Bobotie.

To make for a compleat meal, serve this with a salad.
